March to the Poll on October 27 & 28

Do you know that Texas has one of the lowest voter-participation rates in the nation? That less than 40% of Texans voted in the 2010 election? That the majority of teachers DON”T VOTE!

If we’re going to turn around our current crisis in support for public schools, we first need to VOTE!

Save Texas Schools is sponsoring “March to the Poll” events around the state. On October 27, voters will gather for a short rally at a school, park or other public place and then march (or caravan by car) to a nearby early voting place. Local media coverage will get out the message to vote for public education.

What if you don’t have a pro-public schools candidate to vote for in your area? It is still important to vote. Most ballots will have other candidates, including school board, local government, property tax and other resolutions that matter to our children.

Don’t let someone else make decisions for you!
