What to Wear
Austin weather in February is unpredictable so please be prepared. This means:
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Sunscreen
- Layers that you can easily add or remove
- Light hat
- Please wear a school logo T-shirt, sweatshirt or hat if you have one!
What to Bring
- Posterboard sign promoting your town, school and/or school district name. The media will be out in force so do your school proud!
- Bottled water and snacks – especially important if you’re bringing kids! You may bring food and drink onto the Capitol grounds (no alcohol). If you pack it in, please pack it out. Trash cans & recycling will be located throughout the grounds. We will have bottled water available at the start of the march and at the rally.
- Cell phone to stay in communication with your group. Make sure it is fully charged! If you will have children with you, please make sure they know your phone number and/or write your number on their wrists in ink.
- Small hand-held umbrella for sun or rain. We suggest writing “Use the Rainy Day Fund!” on your umbrella for added impact.
Note about Pets: With the exception of service animals, we strongly discourage bringing any animals to the rally due to the anticipated large crowds. Please leave all pets at home.
Accessibility for Persons with Disabilities
For people with limited mobility: Please visit the following site for information about accessibility at the Capitol grounds: http://www.tspb.state.tx.us/spb/plan/FloorPlan/Access.htm.

Due to anticipated heavy traffic, local residents are strongly encouraged to take public transit, bike, carpool, or have a friend drop your group off.
